Environmental Policy
We firmly believe in responsible tourism. Villa Talangama takes pride in being a completely Sri Lankan operated enterprise, employing local people and retaining all funds generated in Sri Lanka. We interact with the local community wherever possible and enjoy buying produce from local farmers and suppliers. We aim to give back to the community whenever possible – for example we are helping one of our members of staff, Kasun, to set up affordable accommodation in his home village Thalarambe near Mirissa.
We also try to be eco-friendly as possible. Solar energy is used to generate power and hot water. Harvest rain water used for gardening. All our staff are encouraged to use environmentally-friendly practices.
